Ruminations on the Snow Day
Funny how the SNOW DAY! dance is virtually identical to the Bangles' "Walk Like an Egyptian" dance. Ay oh way oh, ay oh way oh...
There is a sort of hair a Petard sprouts on a snow day...It's caused by a combination of dry winter air, hat head, and (let's face facts) Petards don't wash their hair on snow days.
No way.

wait. It snowed in MD today? All that we have in the great white northeast is cold, cold, and more cold... and it isn't even very white outside :(

Oops. Why did I sign my name as Dr Y? ... I'm Dr C. Well, I guess the fact that my apartment is currently w/o heat has frozen my noodle.

Well, the origin of 'Yakalumpf' (aka Dr Y) has long been debated between your sister and I... but as I said, I think the cold is effecting me, and my laptop screen doesn't do much for heat :)

I once lived in an apartment so cold that I considered lighting the entire $4 IKEA bag of 100 tea candles for heat or using my George Foreman grill as a space heater. Instead, I burned books to keep warm, like hobos do.
Sadly, this apartment was in Los Angeles, where it never is colder than 50 degrees - outside, anyway. How an apartment can be 20 plus degrees colder than it is outside is a mystery - one I never solved.
P.S. Jobs that allow for snow days, sick days, or any holidays can eat it hard.
